The Home Restaurant "Il Balcone sulla Vallata" is located in the historic center of Ragusa, in front of the magical Vallata di Santa Domenica, an oasis of greenery under the three bridges of Ragusa.


The valley divides the area south of upper Ragusa in two. It constitutes a green area of particular naturalistic, historical and archaeological interest, along the path of the path that connects Ragusa Superiore with Ragusa Ibla, you pass under the three bridges of Ragusa: Ponte dei Cappuccini (Old Bridge), dating back to the end of the 19th century ; Ponte Nuovo, built in 1937 and Ponte Giovanni XXIII (or Ponte San Vito) built in 1964.


Along the way you will find remains of archaic houses, Latomie used for stone extraction, remains of ancient mills, a Church of historical interest and a 7th century necropolis. B.C.

We are a family that wants to offer a simple welcome with spontaneity and dedication, with a service rich in tradition and innovation with a Sicilian heart.


The kitchen, led by Chef Alessandro, meets the needs of the guests by agreeing the menu with them or proposing purely regional evenings or lunches, traditional Sicilian events, Sicilian dishes and curious gastronomic research.


We offer meat and fish menus. Bread, fresh and filled pasta, strictly homemade desserts. After careful research we will take you to discover new Sicilian culinary paths, recipes discovered from stories and pages of now forgotten cookbooks.


The exclusive use of typical, fresh, seasonal and high quality products is the basis of the creations. The products are purchased from the best local organic KM0 producers and the fish comes from the small fishing boat that docks every day in Marina di Ragusa and beyond...

Ours is a Home Restaurant in Ragusa mainly serving fish and meat, made up of traditions, love for fish and family stories, to bring the sea to the city.


“Il Balcone sulla Vallata”, Home Restaurant was born from the desire and passion to convey the concept of hospitality to our customers, creating a “family atmosphere” and “at home” where you can savor seafood and land cuisine, paying particular attention to the raw material.

Those who eat quality cooked fish do not miss the delicacy of cooked fish and thanks to the skilful preparation of the kitchen, even cooked fish presents surprises of taste and refinement such as swordfish caponatina, tuna parmigiana, sea bass cannoli on broad bean cream.

We offer a very varied choice of pasta, from spaghetti, to scialatielli, to linguine, from risotto, to ravioli, to homemade macaroni and paccheri. Great culinary ideas are presented such as green monkfish ravioli, linguine with cuttlefish ink, swordfish and prawn strozzapreti with pistachio pesto, crepe parcels filled with salmon, burrata and confit cherry tomatoes, calamarata with pistachio pesto and calamari.


Without forgetting the cuisine of meat first courses, with typical dishes such as homemade macaroni alla norma or with beef ragù and dishes of high culinary caliber, such as parmigiana tortelli with seasoned tomatoes, ricotta ravioli with broad bean pesto, risotto with beetroot, caramelized onion and crispy bacon.
